Water Lines

It turns out that some of the water from last week's flood actually made it all the way down to our floor. The water damage cleanup people have been inspecting all the ceilings/floors/walls over the weekend with special water-detecting-tricorder things, and they found a section of our hallway that had to be removed:

It's kind of interesting, actually - you can even see the lines where the water was. It's crazy to think that it made it down 18 stories from where it originated.

Lucky for us, they didn't find any hidden damage in our unit. It seems that, minus the cost of a night in a hotel and some fresh clothes and toiletries, we have escaped the great flood of 2012 scot-free. And the insurance company is supposed to reimburse us for those expenses, so we will end up having escaped it for regular free too.
